Kieran and I played a game of patty-cake today, with both feet and hands, while Rick recorded the action and caught some of those first, precious little giggles! Every day brings something new, something amazing- we are just having so much fun with our little man!

Happy 14 week birthday!
Kieran is 14 weeks today!
We have had a rather busy week as the daycare we had planned for the school year unexpectedly fell through a couple days ago- leaving us up a creek without a paddle! Luckily- our backup plan- the YMCA- still had a slot open. We really had wanted an in-home for Kieran's first few years but after this disapointing experience, we have decided that perhaps a center will be better if for no other reason than the reliability factor! Of course, idealy, mommy would stay home with her little man for the first year but alas it's just not in our financial cards :( However, I will say that Kieran did seem very interested in the babies and toys we saw during our visits to the Y... so perhaps it will end up being a good thing... here's hoping for the best!

Happy 3 month and 13 week birthday!
Kieran turns 3 months today... he's been in this world for a 1/4 of a year already! He has changed so much in that short amount of time... he's now 14.5 pounds and 24.25 inches tall! He smiles, bats and grabs at things, turns towards his mommy and daddy's voices, sits up in his exersaucer and so many other things that he couldn't do when he arrived in this world- on this day at 3 am, three months ago! Yesterday we heard his first belly laugh but of course didn't get to the camera in time to record it! It was a beautiful sound... brought on not by his mommy or daddy's antics but rather by the shibas rough housing while he sat and observed from his exersaucer! We will be sure to post his first little laughs as soon as we capture them- they are just so sweet ( :

Weekend happenings...
Kieran had a big weekend! We went to a BBQ at the Marshall's and had a great time there catching up with old friends and playing with all the babies! Sunday we visited with cousin Presley and then went to Art in the Park!

Daddy didn't want to do hats- but look how cute! Especially the green one that Kieran's grandma knitted. Don't you just love the dimply little bottom shot with Rick's hand?!
These pics were taken by Nicole Manner of Iris Photography. She was a lot of fun to work with- professional but not at all stuffy! She was also very patient with our fussy little man! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for any sort of professional photos and hope to work with her again soon- when Kieran is sitting up!
