Happy 29 weeks!

Happy 29 weeks big boy! Kieran is fairing very well with his new and temporary daycare situation. While Sheila is away on vacation, Grandma, Grandpa and "Uncle" Joe are caring for our little man during the school day. Of course everyone is loving their time with Kieran- who wouldn't? The first couple days grandma had a rough go of it with naps but once grandpa figured out that Kieran just needed a chest to sleep on rather than the pack-n-play mattress, all was well ;)
Kieran has added carrots to his diet this week and seems to be liking them pretty well. He also tried out his two new teeth on raw apple chunks- in the nummy-pouch of course!
For this week's photo shoot mommy decided to try out a sweet Tigger costume that came from Grandma D. As you can see, he was absolutely adorable in it!

This and that...

Here is a random mix of the happenings of Kieran's last few days...

The first two pictures were taken yesterday afternoon when I returned home from work to find Kieran sacked out on grandpa's chest. This is apperantly the only place he would sleep for naps yesterday when grandpa sat for us, as Sheila is out of town. Guess he's got grandpa wrapped around his little finger as well!

The next pictures were taken at my parent's house. Just hanging out on the floor and enjoying some tummy-time.

The last two pictures were taken at the Jeff City Old Munichberg festival this past weekend. There was a lot of German-y goodness going on but we of course forgot to photograph the dachshund race or the polka dancing, instead we took a picture of this random bush with a migrating monarch- doesn't really tell the whole story of the day- but it's pretty though ;)

Fun at the sitters!

Sheila and her husband Roger had a good time playing dress up with Kieran earlier this week... although we are not sure who Kieran is supposed to be, we are sure it's pretty funny! "I think those are supposed to go on the other end kiddo!"

28 weeks old!

Happy birthday big boy! Mommy missed the weekly owl-pal photo shoot last night as she was called away to work (grandparent's night)... so daddy was in charge. I think the photo's turned out great- despite the lack of a female perspective ;)
Kieran is more and more vocal all the time and it seems he has begun to randomly add consonant sounds to his repertoire such as "Ba" "Da" "Ga" and "Ma"... no words yet but we are on our way for sure!
Kirean is also working on perfecting the art of rolling in both directions. He's no Olympic gymnast just yet, but at least he can usually roll towards what he wants now!
This past week we added green beans and plums to our ever-expanding baby menu and surprisingly, Kieran seemed to really enjoy them both! Mommy has Kieran eat a vegie for every dinner, but apperently daddy saw no reason for this last night and when left to his own devices, decided a supper of plums and oats was just fine- and I guess it was too ;)

Happy 27 week birthday!

Happy 27 week birthday ( a bit belated) big boy!
This past week, Kieran has been cutting a second bottom tooth which has resulted in even more drool- if that's possible! No top ones yet though- which has been nice for the nursing!
He is more and more vocal these days- lot's of squealing and random weird noises- which of course we love! I try to imitate him and that always gets a giggle or two.
He is rolling more and more and trying to scoot as well- which makse belly time a lot more fun for everyone involved. We are hoping that he holds off on crawling a little bit longer though... we are loving this interactive but still immobile stage!
This week we introduced avocados which Kieran seems to really be enjoying- especially when mixed in with his rice cereal. After every dinner, he has a "dessert" of either frozen pears or apples in his nummy-pouch... a true baby delicacy! I love that I can now just hand him the device and he immediately knows how to work it- how cool is that?! It wasn't too long ago that he wouldn't have been able to hold on to it, much less manipulate it so that he had the right end in his mouth! I also love that when he first gets it in his grasp, he hold it out in both hands and stares at it- as if in awe and practically vibrates with excited anticipation... sooooo cute!
