This and that late March

Kieran had his three-year doctor visit this month as well as his first trip to the dentist. He was in tip-top shape according to the dr. except for a worrisome dark spot on a upper molar... so off to the dentist it was ;) Our first dentist trip was a success- thank goodness! We took Kieran to Magical Smiles in Jeff City. I told him that as long as he cooperated and opened his mouth big he would get a prize at the end. As soon as we walked in he opened his mouth! It was too cute ;) The waiting room was a big success- a seating area like a school bus, toys and Finding Nemo on the flat-screen... what kid could ask for more?! He was a good boy for hygienist and sat through an entire cleaning, brushing and flossing- good boy! The dentist said all looked good but agreed with the Dr.- there was definitely the beginnings of a cavity so we have scheduled an appointment to have sealant applied  to the molar to hopefully prevent a cavity in the future. Kieran got a lizard toy for his prize and stayed another half hour just to play with all the fun toys before I could get him out the door- good grief!
Three year well-child exam with Dr. Herrbold...

Kieran being a walrus monster!

First trip to the dentist... he loved the chair that went, "up, up, up!"

He was such a good boy- he sat still or an entire cleaning :)

Today, NeNe Orange visited Kieran at KIM School and got to see him in action- of course she was very impressed with the facilities, staff and setting and Kieran was thrilled to have such an important visitor ;) After we came to pick him up we all went to El Jimador for dinner and then to the fish store for our usual Friday night. Now NeNe is giving Kieran his bath- Rick and I have been banned from the bathroom ;)

Coloring a mandala after waking up from a nap.

"Hmmm... what about this color?"

Spring break 2012!

We had such a wonderful, relaxing and fun-filled spring break this year and amazing weather to boot! We kicked it off with the 3rd birthday bash and then followed it up with family visits, a trip to the movies, a day in St. Louis at the butterfly house and transportation museum, dinner with friends and lots of time outside! Mom and dad even managed to squeeze in some grown-up time- I went to the lake, twice- once with friends and once with my mom and sister. And to cap it off we had a lovely St. Patrick's night out while NeNe Orange babysat the little man. All-in-all it was a fantastic break and it's going to be hard going back to work tomorrow!

Morning fun in the backyard in his jammies!

Princess Kieran watching a little TV...

That tiara goes perfectly with yellow jammies and socks!

We spent Thursday in the St. Louis area- first stop... the butterfly house!

Kieran wasn't too sure at first about all those floaty little insects...

A great chance shot with a butterfly floating through the frame :)

"Look at that one mom!"

Still a little uneasy about the butterflies...

Splashing in the puddles!

The butterflies were amazing!!

The flowers were fantastic- especially the orchids!

Kieran making friends with a couple of girls- such a cutie!

Mom and Kieran in the roach house bubble!

Dad takes his turn with the roaches- eeewwww!

Down the slide at the butterfly house playground- with Spiderman too of course!

Mr. Cool!

We stopped for dinner at a place called Yia-Yia's for lunch near the butterfly house... the food was great and Kieran had a lot fun playing with his new bug catcher house during the meal too ;)

After lunch we stopped by the Matisziw's home to pick up some tickets Linda was kind enough to share with us to the transportation museum. Kieran LOVED the big trains and yards of tracks!

He had a couple spills running around on the rails...

A few tears were shed- but nothing a little love and some kisses couldn't fix ;)

Back in action!

"Driving" the train with a new friend :)

"All aboard!!"

"Now which one turns this thing on?!"

We spent Friday evening at the Marshall's house- Kieran had his first "game" of t-ball ;)

I love this pose- he does it a lot these days ;)

"I got it!"

Kieran loved Jacob and Evan's cool train table!

Sitting down to a fantastic meal- thanks again to Julie and Joe for being such great hosts- we all had soooo much fun!

A little dress up time before we departed...

The saddest super hero around ;)

Action pose!

A family shot before mommy and daddy headed out... thanks again Sandy for taking such good care of our little one while were out- he loves his NeNe Orange!

We had dinner at 44 Stone and then drinks at East Side Tavern. (Don't you love the shiba-photo-bomb?!)

We spent some time Sunday with my folks for a "traditional" Irish dinner (corned beef and cabbage- mmmm!) Here Kieran is playing baby in an old doll cradle my sister and I used to play with as children.

A little too big- but he stayed in that crib for an hour or so- pretending to eat plastic food and drink his bottle ;)

He brought his bus in too- of course ;)

A relaxing bath Sunday night- with all the super heros too- naturally ;) Happy Spring everyone!
