Good Night Animals...

In the spirit of Good Night Gorilla, a favorite bed-time book in the Rother household, Kieran wished all the animals a good night before bed last night...

Kieran's first soccer class!

Kieran started soccer lessons at the MAC today in Columbia and it went great! As you can see from this picture (he's in the orange shorts) he was a great listener and followed the teacher's directions easily. He is excited for his next lesson and can't wait to go back!

GOAL!

Throwing the ball in!

A blur of speed ;)

Stephens Lake Park Rocks!

We spent the morning at Stephens Lake beach and spray gardens today and it was great! Kieran had a great time, the weather was perfect and there weren't too many people there... a lovely way to spend a summer day.
We got Kieran a little "boat" that he LOVED! He spent a lot of time "sailing" and "paddling" around... so cute!

We also spent a lot of time building a "Hall of Justice" complete with moat. Good thing we had a few superheros with us to break in our sand creation!

I soon turned over excavation and construction to the boys, as it turns out Rick is quite the sand-engineer ;)

Art in the Park 2012

Kieran and Koshka checking out something in the back yard...

My sweet boys ;)

Kieran and both shibas... so sweet.
We took Kieran into Columbia yesterday for lunch and to visit this year's Art in the Park event at Stephen's Lake. We didn't get past the spray park for over two hours!

Kieran wanted nothing to do with spray parks last year, he didn't like the water falling on him and he steered clear of fountains everywhere we went. So we were both rather surprised when started stripping as we walked down the sidewalk when we arrived at Stephen's Park yesterday- he could hardly wait to "jump" in!
One of the many things I love about this boy- his ability to make a friend everywhere we go in mere moments!

Kieran and his new friend... love that action pose!

The boys had so much fun sitting on some of the lower fountains- sort of like a baday ;)

You wouldn't know it to look, but there is a fountain under that little bum!

After nearly two hours in the spray park Kieran finally noticed the lake! Sand and water- what could be better? Makes me feel a little more guilty now about leaving him at home when Rick and I travel to Mexico next month... I think he would LOVE the ocean!

It was a good thing we packed Kieran's trunks (just-in-case) and that I wore a short dress- next time we will all bring our suits along with buckets, shovels and floaties!

Playing in the "surf"...

Proudly displaying a random piece of plastic detritus he discovered :)

It took a lot of coaxing and bribing (kettle corn and icecream) to get this little boy away from the water, but eventually we succeeded...

Mommy and Kieran with one of the fantastic toparies at Art in the Park...

"Pet gentle..." ;)

We didn't see too much art before Kieran drug us over to the playground and giant sandbox... here he is King of a rock!

Another new friend and Kieran play monsters in the sand box... when he does this he reminds me so much of Max from Where the Wild Things Are ;)

Mommy and Kieran take a little break with some kettle corn and a dream-sickle smoothie- mmmm!

Daddy gets some too ;)
