The nursery... in progress stage 1

Rick cracks open the crib box... Wow... that looks like a lot of work! Think I will make a pizza run!
When I return he is finished! Way to go daddy- what a cool crib!

Nearly 29 weeks and counting...

Here's mommy right before we left for a 2008-2009 new year's eve party- pretty snazzy huh?! I don't think the horizontal stripes are doing much to slim that belly though!
At nearly 29 weeks I am feeling great and the baby is growing like a weed! At our most recent Dr. appointment, my belly measured at 30 cm! Wow!!! That's one big baby! The heart rate was 131 bpm- which is always so cool to hear! We will start visiting Dr. Su every two weeks for the next four appointments which will take us to March and then we will be at the Dr.'s every week until our little boy makes his appearance! That's a lot of poking, proding and weighing-in over the next two and half months!
Rick and I start our baby classes this month- from childbirth to infant CPR- we hope to get a little more prepared for the job ahead of us. This week we started work on the nursery finaly... right now it's a HUGE mess! But we love the light blue color we chose and are excited to start work on our tree mural. We will post pics as things start to come together.
That's all the baby-news-that-is-news for now... Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and that the year ahead will be full of joy and wonderful new memories!

Nearly as big as the christmas tree!!! 100 days till the EDD! Grow, grow baby Rother!

Not too much new to share... belly still expanding at an alarming rate, due in part this week to the tremendous quantities of food consumed over the Thanksgiving weekend!
As you can see Rick and I were having fun with digital filters!
Baby's moving more and more every day... what a cool sensation!
Oh- found out my sister's having a girl- so one of each in our family now! Congrats to her and JT!

Pregnant in pink!

At our monthly brunch club we also celebrated Heidi's soon-to-be new addition... another boy for the group! For some reason we all decided to wear pink! Breakfast was delicious and the lemon cupcakes were the perfect finish- thanks Erin!

Little kicks!

It's official... the baby is moving and we can finally feel it- for sure this time! No more confusing those odd little twitches for gas or my imagination- and Rick can confirm it! The other night we were lying in bed and there it was again, that strange little flutter, unlike any other sensation I have experienced. I held Rick's hand to my ever-expanding belly and viola... he kicked! (the baby that is- not Rick!) It was a very cool moment- it felt like we were a little family for the first time- the three of us present and kicking ( : Just wanted to share the fun news!
