The craft/train table... masks in progress...
Daddy holding the pull-string- pinata'...

Kieran decides to expedite the process... in other words, he cheats!

Down falls all the candy! The children didn't seem to mind missing their turn too much, since they got to the candy sooner!
The candy scramble!

Gathering the loot...

Sharing with friends :)

The birthday cake... this was quite a feat... from crumbling cakes to frosting experiments... it was a late-night-labor-of-love...
At least it turned out okay... tasted pretty good too ;)

Kieran digs in... mmm!
Sweet little boy ;)

Present time! A Little Mermaid bath toy set :)

"Look mom! HEATWAVE!!!" This toy was the theme for the entire party- Kieran was very excited to finally have his very own Heatwave Rescue Bot!!

Birthday celebration at KIM school...
So focused...
Laying out the months of the year around the sun in preparation for the traditional Montessori celebration...

Kieran takes his symbolic trip around the sun- 4 times this year!

Such a big boy all of a sudden :)

Hooray for Snow-days!

Good thing they called school off yesterday, we got close to a foot of snow (thundersnow!), with some crazy drifts and a little frozen sleet on top of that... roads were an absolute mess all day!

When I woke up Thursday morning around 7 it was just starting to flurry, but by ten it looked like this! Kieran was itchin' to get outside and get his fill of snow-fun but there was so much wind, thunder and even lightening we made him wait till after lunch... very weird snow storm.

Gearing up...

Thursday, Kieran didn't venture too far from our front porch, it was still blowing and snowing... but he had plenty to work with in that giant drift!

Battling the snow... he landed some pretty fantastic blows ;)

Playing with his "rescue vehicle" and a few superheros after mommy shoveled a path for our sidewalk.

We were all feeling a little stir-crazy by lunch time on snow-day number two so we ventured out for slices at APP... always good!

"I am a BIG pizza fan!"

Too tired to even chew ;)

Drinking some spilled lemonade off the table- nice ;)

We discovered we had left over whipping cream and decided to make some snow-cream with a splash of coconut extract .. Kieran loved this idea- but then he loves to eat snow straight up too!

It only occurred to me after ingesting a fair amount of the stuff that maybe we shouldn't be eating snow at all- I mean I don't drink rainwater, right? Oh well, I ate a lot of this as a child and turned out okay, I guess...

Kieran loved it and so far... he seems fine...

Late winter 2013

Glowing bubble bath! Kieran loves glow-sticks in the bath and the bubbles made for some cool colors and textures!

Stir it up...

Swirling, glowing bubbles!
Helping make "little pizzas"...

Snacking on the pepperoni... this kids loves him some salty, processed meat!

Adding yet more pepperonis to his pizza...

Preparing to flip the pizza... love this pose!

We helped Edith (Camden's sister) celebrate her 2nd birthday last weekend. It was a Tinkerbell themed birthday. Here, the children are decorating their very own fairy wings- very cool activity!

Kieran jumped right in...

Showing off his new wings, on top of his cape- perfect!

Crazy boy!

Wild friends!

Flying!

Working on getting the blocks out- team work ;)

So sweet :)

Another fun birthday activity- making bird-feeders with peanut butter and seeds...

Kieran ate about much PB as he applied ;)

Rolling in seeds... daddy is such a great helper ;)

Sweet little fairy-knight!

Pizza, fruit and box-juice... a perfect kid lunch!

A cool pinata'- with pull strings rather one that needs to be bashed to get the candy out...

Kieran explaining to Edith about the gift he chose for her- a Tinkerbell doll ;)

An attempt at a group shot with all the kiddos...

Kieran and Camden made this a difficult process ;)

Silly boys!
